Clubbing Make up look

BAR/LOUNGE MAKE-UP (PRODUCT LIST)

Hey Everyone, I haven't posted a make-up look so far which is strange considering I am in a full coverage/full face of make up most days due to work and then even more done up when going out on the weekends.

This look is a simple bronzed eye with a pink lip for a night out. I was going to a casual club which is technically a bar/lounge. As the venue is mainly a social environment it is not really the place to have a black smokey eye or something super dramatic so I went with  this look, I think it would be great when you want to feel confident and like a girly girl but not so done up that looking all cake cake cake (you get my drift).

I thought I would just list the products used so that you can get an idea of the makeup look. I took inspiration from this picture I will add bellow that I found on instagram and added my own personal touches as I did not want it to look quite as stark white and shimmery. The look draws attention to the eyes and lips and a bronze eye look really suits all eye colours but I do particularly love it on hazel eyes.

YSL LIPSTICKS

YSL LIPSTICKS!!

We have never really splurged when it comes to lipsticks, These lipsticks from YSL cost a pricy 50 - $55, but I mean look at that packaging, they just look so luxurious. These lipsticks are the only really high end lipsticks we own, they were all presents given to us by our beautiful friends and our big sister.
If you are thinking about buying a YSL lipstick and aren't sure we think GO FOR IT, honestly even if you get one whether it be your perfect red, bright pink, or nude colour. These lipsticks are stunning, the quality is amazing super creamy and pigmented, and I mean the packaging is so so beautiful! We only have 3 but want to slowly build up a collection, see swatches and details below..

So working left to right on the left there is the "rouge pur cotoure'' collection in the shade 07, it is a stunning bright pink, super creamy and pigmented, it leaves a nice sheen on the lips so you don't even need to add gloss, this is a very Maree colour, all black outfit with a bright pink lip can't go wrong. In the middle is the newest part of our collection our big sister got it for us when she was overseas, is is the different packaging because it is part of the ''rouge volupte'' collection in the shade 9. It is a beautiful pink colour, almost a brighter baby pink, this is also super pigmented and creamy we have been obsessed with this colour even every day with simple makeup. Then on the right is another "rouge pur cotoure'' collection lipstick in number 11. This is an Ebony shade the perfect nude pink lip its not too brown or pink which makes it perfect on our skin tone, this one has more of a sheen almost a bit frosted but it does not come off on the lips, it just looks more glossy.

Well these are our 3 YSL lipsticks, you can buy them from

We have nothing bad to say about these lipsticks, they are so beautiful and in our collection they are our pride and joy. So if you are looking for a high end lipstick we have mac lipsticks as well and we choose the YSL lipsticks any day the formula has a much bigger lasting power, as the mac lipsticks are almost too creamy that they slide right off the lips. Hope this helped!

SATURDAY NIGHT OOTN
(CLUBBING)

Ebony and I have not been out on a Saturday night in AGES, but our favourite place to go has reopened, and we went to the opening night (of course) I was so excited to get all dressed up, standard me decided I wanted to wear all black because I LOVE wearing all black, it was a perfect excuse to put my new Zachary the Label top to good use, I paired it with this simple black slip skirt, and by connecting the 2 with the string it looked like the pieces really went together, I decided to do no accessories because accessories tend to be annoying when you are out dancing with friends they can get in the way. I just paired the look with a comfy pair of heels which is always important when you are going to be out all night. But the best advice I can give when it comes to what to wear out clubbing, have fun with it, use it as an excuse to really doll yourself up and look your absolute best! (excuse the photo of me being a loser)

SATURDAY NIGHT OOTN
(CLUBBING)

So as Maree said Saturday night was our first Saturday out in a long long time, and I was super excited as well to get to wear my Zachary top that I am obsessed with! from the front its looks nice and conservative with just side cut outs but then the back is completely open which I find super sexy at the same time, I paired my new top with a skirt that I love just a simple body con skirt that would go with the top, this top I LOVE but keep in mind, you need to be careful what you pair it with because it is a bodysuit so the lines of the bodysuit will show up if you wear a thin skirt, I paired this with my favourite nude heels. I agree with what Maree wrote when going clubbing have fun with what you wear, doll yourself up and have a great night out!

PICK OF THE MONTH!

ZACHARY THE LABEL

This month it was super easy to pick our brand of the month, it is a new brand it is around 10 months old, it is called 'ZACHARY THE LABEL' it is fair to say we are obsessed, now the clothes are a bit pricier but it is worth it, the clothes are made on site and with great material and the quality is flawless, the brands direction in our point of view is very classy, nice pieces that are very versatile with dresses that are able to be worn many different ways, all the skirts are longer, with lots of high neck pieces with very low backs which we love. Here are our favourites from the brand.

going through each column:
1. Kandice bodysuit: We own this is black. It is the same as the bodysuit Kendell Jenner has worn recently at the AMA's.

2. Extreme T-Bar dress:  I mean we cannot fault this dress it is stunning, it was a must that we make it part of our collection, we love the back very different from anything we own.

3.  Metropolitan Dress: we don't own this as it is sold out at the moment, it is a beautiful dress that can be worn so many different ways by changing what you do with the string, we love the versatility as it means you can get a lot more wears out of the dress.

1. On the top is the Belize Crop in black, this was our first Zachary purchase for only $40 for such a beautifully made versatile top, for us this is a Zachary much have! The top is super versatile as you can change what you do with the strings making it look like a new top each time.

2. Below that you have the long sleeve Belize Crop, which is also stunning paired with another favourite of ours the asymmetric skirt, we loved this skirt so much we have to buy it in charcoal and black, what we love about this skirt is the material is so flattering and with the added length it is very flattering on a females body, however the asymmetric cut keeps it young and still sexy.

We cannot say enough good things about Zachary The Label, the designs are great, great quality and different from anything else out at the moment, 10/10 in our eyes, go check it out for yourself!! You wont be disappointed.

PUBLIC HOLIDAY OOTN

So Eb and I went out Sunday for the Queens Birthday public holiday whatever you want to call it, there was HEAPS going on, I just had to show off Ebs outfit I am OBSESSED! I am not daring enough to do this plunge but Eb did it so well and still so classy. Public holiday night outs are really the nights to go all out, they are the nights where the club/bar/wherever is packed, especially with new faces so we always love to look our best. The short jumpsuit and plunge is daring but with the long sleeves and Eb pairing it with a long necklace really keeps the look classy and not too much! Eb kept her hair girly with nice big curls and pretty simple makeup, and of course the high heels were a necessity. Full details Below

The dress was brought of Ebay, I strongly reccomend the seller:

OUR BIRTHDAY NIGHT OUT!

When it comes to birthdays, people like to go very over the top with glitter and all that which is perfectly fine depending on the occasion. Eb and I were going to a bar and it is quite casual so we decided to keep our outfits quite casual too, we didn't even realise that we kind of colour coordinated :p Eb went with my fav type of skirt at the moment those asymmetrical cut skirts which are super flattering! with a bra let and for me I had brought this fishnet cropped top and then i just paired it with this checkered print skirt we both just wore black heels, and of course pink birthday badges were a must! With our hair we both kept it simple with waves and down, and amped up the makeup with some glitter ;) Full outfit details below...

dress up party

DRESS UP PARTY!

( MINNESOTA TWIS )

Ebony and I could not wait to get to dress up, we did not want to go dressed like a 'nurse' or a 'police officer' or anything to sexy and all those costumes get done all the time.  It was a last minute decision to go to the dress up themed night so we pulled this look together.

We have always had these Minnesota Twins jerseys because we thought it was soo cool that there was a baseball team called the Minnesota Twins, they were brought online, however the tops are HUGE on us and didn't really look party appropriate.

Ebony decided we could work with what we had we rolled up the sleeves on them and pined them into place then tired up the bottoms so that they were still baggy but not down to our knees. To make the look not so boy like I added a simple slip skirt and ebony added these disco like shorts from Dotti. We had the high socks in our wardrobe and just had to add some nice killer heels.

For our hair and makeup we both went just for loose curls with a brown smokey eye.

When dressing up sometimes its good to work with what you've got, you can look just as good going for the 'cute' option. Dress up parties are fun so don't be shy and dress up and have fun!!

CELEBRITY INSPIRED OUTFIT

Beyonce and Katy Perry both wore this beautiful Herve Leger two piece matching outfit. You don't need to spend your life savings on a celebrity look, there are so many copies of designer styles for just a fraction of the price, and the quality of this outfit particularly I am very pleased with and it only cost $50. The skirt and top is bandage material and has a butterfly type pattern which just looks so unique compared to your typical plain bandage skirts and tops. I wanted to recreate this look but change it slightly for a more clubbing type outfit and for a slightly younger wearer. The skirt is as long as photographed on Katy and Beyonce but I tucked it under to make it shorter as I am a very short girl and that cut does not suit me at all. I love the style and felt amazing wearing this outfit. I recommend this outfit to any girls who appreciate more fashion forward looks and are looking to stand out.

AUSTRALIA DAY EVENT OUTFIT

I went to an event at Motel for Australia day. I wore a standard LBD with a bit of a twist because of the cut out details. This dress was brought online off www.tobi.com, when you sign up for the website you get your first offer for 50% so the dress only cost about $40, plus currently free shipping to Australia on all orders. The dress is available in a burgundy and a taupe colour with sizes XS, S, M and L. I then matched the dress with criss-crossed shoes that kind of mirror the detailing on the dress. I purchased an XS from the site and I am a size 6 for anyone wondering This dress was good quality but I have brought another dress off the site and was not happy with it which is a risk with any online shopping. I think this dress would be great to add to your collection as everyone needs a LBD in their life.

brow lightening

HOW TO: LIGHTEN YOUR BROWS

before & after

After I lightened my hair colour I felt as though my eyebrows were too dark and harsh for the warmer toned hair colour. A general rule is for blondes your eyebrows should be two shades darker and for brunettes your eyebrows should be two shades lighter than the hair on your head. In order to defuse the harshness of my eyebrows I lightened them with Sally Hansen creme hair bleach for face.

Product:
Sally Hansen creme hair bleach for face $18.99 from Priceline

What is included in the kit:
The kit should include creme (30ml), activator powder, mixing tray and an applicator
I would recommend this product because you will get multiple uses out of it as you do not need a lot of product.

Tips for best results:
The instructions are very clear and provided inside the box the product comes in.
It is recommended to leave the mixture on for 8mins however I know personally my hair takes to bleach very quickly and I achieved the results I wanted after only 5mins so it is very important to constantly be checking the progress of your brows as everyones hair reacts to bleach different and at a different rate.
Also everyones skin has different levels of sensitivity so if you feel any irritation you should remove the mixture immediately and clean off with cold water the product that is on your face. I have some what sensitive skin and did not experience any irritation.
Your natural brow colour will eventually grow through and darker the look of the brow again, I found after about 6 weeks I had to repeat the process of lightening my brows.

favourite makeup product of 2013

KAT VON D LOCK IT TATTOO FOUNDATION

This foundation has to be my favourite beauty product of 2013. This foundation is proper full coverage, it will cover any imperfections on your face. For the girls with perfect skin this may not be completely necessary but for girls like me with scaring or problem skin a full coverage foundation is an essential part of my make up collection. This foundation will cover up any imperfections and provides a flawless canvas for the rest of  your makeup.
The foundation is extremely pigmented, it is made up of 21% pigment and it claims to have 24 hour wear. After going out clubbing one night and wearing it I fell asleep in my makeup which is pretty terrible for my skin and it was not until 24 hours later I purchased makeup wipes that I could take it off. It may of not looked as flawless as the time I put it on but it definitely stayed on my skin. This is one of the only foundations I can wear out clubbing or from the morning to night with it actually not moving and breaking up on my face.
The foundation has not broken me out at all but my skin is not extremely sensitive. I would recommend the foundation for girls with more oily to normal skin as opposed to dry because the finish is matte/velvet and I would be concerned the thick texture would cling to dry patches on the face. There is 14 shades which is fantastic with a range of undertones that will suit all kinds of skin colours. I am in shade medium 54 for those who are medium complexion with yellow/beige undertones.
The bottle has a pump which is fantastic and helps not waste as much product, the pump dispenses a small amount of product so you do not feel as though you are wasting product. A little bit of the foundation goes a long way as the foundation is quite thick it is best to work fast and blend well.
Personally I prefer to use my sigma flat top Kabuki brush to apply this foundation for the best results.

In summary I love this foundation, the full coverage and long wear is great for girls who need their makeup to last through a night out or full day and it is perfect for girls who are self conscious about their skin and want to go out feeling confident with a flawless face or even girls with perfect skin who just want a full coverage foundation.

This foundation is not available from stores in Australia. I purchased mine on eBay and I think it cost roughly $50 which included shipping to get it to Australia from a seller called shmack-1975  a link to the item page is listed bellow. The seller was very helpful and fast to respond to my questions.

New found fashion love..

KOOKAI!

Growing up Kookai was never ever a store I even went into I thought it was for older mature women. Even after I turned 18 it was never a store I turned to. But I have noticed in the last couple of months Kookai has gotten a lot of hype for having very simple but excellent quality clothes. I can say honestly there is hype for a reason I love that Kookais collection of clothes are always simple never anything crazy just simple flattering cuts of dresses, skirts and tops in so many nice colours and all excellent quality.

Boxing day Kookai was the most packed store in the whole shopping centre not only because they have great clothes but because while most stores had 15-20% off Kookai had 50% off selected items, when I walked into the store so many things were on sale, and the dresses I have had my eye on the last couple of months went from over $100 to only $55-$65 which for the quality of dresses is a great deal.

This is one of the dresses I got on boxing day, I will show the other couple of dresses as I wear them.
I love this T-shirt cut dress how it gathered all up the top you can make the v neck as high or as low as you want which means the dress can be changed from classy to sexy and casual to a night out instantly.
I love the colour, and I love that Kookai may have a couple of styles of dresses and then they make them in 7-8 colours which means if you like the style of dress you can find it in the colour that best suits you, I chose this light bluish green colour because I knew it would compliment my tan and my dark hair.

I highly recommend Kookai if you have not already checked it out, have a look at the link below...

   NEW YEARS EVE OUTFITS

Let's start off with a big HAPPY NEW YEAR! Ebony and I are so excited to get our blog going this year. Ok now onto outfits...No surprise I went with my typical skirt and top combo. This year was my first new years being 18, so I was excited to get to go to an overage event. I wanted to go for my typical combo but amped up for new years eve. I knew red is meant to bring luck for the new year so I thought I would do a red bandage skirt. Like I have mentioned in previous posts I love these bandage skirts, such great quality and so flattering. I went for the ivory top because I would usually do black, and this ivory colour will suit anyone with a tan. This outfit did not need any added accessories I wanted to keep it simple so I just added nude heels. I loved the way the outfit turned out and thought it was a perfect way to start off 2014. All the details down below....

Sincerely Maree xo

Outfit Details:
Top: Kookai
Skirt: Bandage Skirt - Gumtree
Shoes: Famous footwear

For the NYE event I wanted to do something dressy but different than what I usually go for. I never ever wear pinks, I'm just not drawn to that colour when it comes to clothing, but this dress caught my eye and it was 50% off making it only $55 which in my books is a total bargain. I love that it is a bandage dress which is very flattering on most body types but the cut outs made it a bit different and the purple detailing pulls to look together. The dress also had an open back which I am a total sucker for. This dress would look great on a tan and the colours and cut just needs a simple pair of nude heels to tie it all together. I think the dress was very new years appropriate and made me feel very comfortable and confident to bring on 2014.
